NY Gov INCREASES Taxes

New York Gov. Patterson has decided to work with the legislation to increase fees and taxes on a scale that hasn't been in decades.

Will Taxes save state governments from ruin?

People in NY will pay more for taxis, movies, digital downloads, beer, wine, cars over 60,000, vehicle registration, etc.

Sales taxes really do affect purchasing. The other day I was going to buy something for several hundred at amazon but the sales tax was enough to make me decide not to buy it.

Good vid. I live in California and we in 70 billion in debt. Sooner or later their will be no money for the education system, paramedics, fireman , and police in the streets.

They will probably bring in an air tax for people that breathe. That way people that breathe more will pay more and people that don't want to breathe will not have to pay so much tax. Then they can use the extra revenue for a bailout of the yacht industry.

Great video; true enough ppl are being increasingly frugal day by day. Also, with less buying means less taxes collected; less big bonuses less taxes collected. It all is a domino effect. However, we only can see that we are paying more with less(same income possibly). This is early sign of inflation due to cash flood of bailout money that keeps coming to big companies...hold on ppl! Times are getting rougher every day!

Unlike the NYC, we always have devestating wild fires, that destroy thousands of homes here. You'll probably remember all those wildfires in the news. We get landslides, and small earthquakes that damage buildings etc. California is overdue for a HUGE earthquake as well. That all just adds up into our already crippling budget.

I can see a few conscious people pulling back from activities that sport the increased taxes and seeking alternate means of meeting their needs. It will not be a problem initially but, as this behavior becomes more widespread, more things will be taxed in an attempt to generate revenue.

Most people will swallow it to have their luxuries. It's all happening in such small increments that they won't be smart enough to get angry until they're dead. :)
