This is what is called a T Flip-Flop. The output is turned ON/OFF with the same button (in this design).

  • Couldnt you just use an RS NOR latch?

  • @TheEmmanuelle1 It all depends on what you want the circuit to do =)

  • @TheIronLaptop This isn't pointless, you just don't know how to use it ;-)

  • I have no idea wat this can be used for

  • @MrBlackshotNoob An easy thing this could be used for is to open/close a door with one button. But there are alot more advanced things to use it for aswell =)

  • for all the people who dont know where this could be used for. think bout binary counters, when you use this 2 items will count as 1 so you half the size of your circuit =) ( and binary counters can be used in factories befor you ask ;) )

  • In Beta 1.7, when Pistons are added, there is a OMGly compact T Flip-Flop!

  • @sirdavva top comment in ur own videos....

    like a boss!

  • @MrBlackshotNoob this is basically a 1bit memory unit, theoretically, with enough of them (and a shit load of other redstone wiring) you could build a rudimentary computer

  • I've always wondered what this is called, now I can put it in real circuits outside of minecraft. Thanks a lot!

  • @sirdavva I use the T flip flop when I have two inputs for something that needs to stay on or stay off, such as a secret piston door.. you flip the lever on to go in, but to turn it off from the inside you can't use a lever.you use a Tflipflop and buttons and your problem is solved. You can use the buttons and it doesn't get messed up because they are not in an off/on position and th 2 button inputs go to 1 tflipflop output. if that makes sense

  • thanks so much for this

  • @MrBlackshotNoob Maybe something controlled by multiple buttons. Using multiple levers gets very complex very quickly.
