German Newsreel Feb.1933 The ship is placed in dry dock and the stern is fixed solid, whilst the bow is on rollers. The ship is cut into half in a series of zigzags. Then the bow is pulled forward using a steam crane, this takes ten minutes. The ship is then ready to receive a new center structure increasing the length to 95 meters.
