The Roselle Fire Department held a training exercise on Sunday, May 3, 2009. An old house at the SouthWest Quadrant of Roselle Road and the Elgin-O'Hare Expressway was set on fire. The smoke could be seen for miles and a large crowd congregated to watch the firefighters try different hose set-ups. Scene includes parked equipment on Roselle Road as well as some serious flaming carnage.
I should add that this was a abandoned dwelling. The Roselle Fire Department would not just a house at random and torch it. The Fire Department maintained an excellent balance of professionalism and public relations. They allowed the crowd to get close but not so close there was any danger to life or property. Nice job Roselle!
