Thanks Deitz, McPheeters Barracks is one of those love hate memories. There was an extreme amount of racial tension there in 70-71. Thank God it all worked out for the better. In so far as that area of Germany and Bad Hersfeld, I found that the people there were most receptive and gracious to the Americans. I lived on the economy in Gosmannsrode, 14 klics from the post. I loved it there. Bebra, Kircheim, Kassel, Fulda, Marburg all had some new to offer. Thanks , Bob Wallace D co. 54th eng 70-71

@PhantomCountry Bob thank for your post. I was in Hersfeld when Martin Luther King was killed. The only serious racial tension I experienced was while we were in Graf for training. After leaving the Graf EM Club I was jumped by two, I survived with only a concussion ;-)

Man brings back memories. I can't believe how much it's changed but still looks the same. I was there when we (3/11-58th Red Devils) moved to 2/11 in Wildchicken (Wildflecken)
