Monster movers #1 : Trucking down under

The #2 clip is the better of the two from a visual point of view. Sunday October 2 2011 saw a pair of brand new Queensland Rail National ACN class units being shipped west by truck. They came in to Port Augusta on highway 1 and used the oversize vehicle bypass via Yorkey Crossing to go around the town. These units are destined for the Western Australian 3'6" system and it is apparently cheaper to send them by road than to put them on transfer bogies and cut through the red tape to move them on the standard gauge rail system. Such is the world of the disjointed privatised rail system in Australia where it is cheaper and easier to ship locomotives across the nation by road.

@Lapune No idea, he might have seen a bit of rough road, swallowed a fly, who knows until the driver sees the video. He might answer the question then.

He could of been haveing a look behind him as he starts to swereve when he get to where there is some extra road to his left , you can not see behind when the load is that wide

Pity they didnt run the loads across that PA weighbridge(The Barbie) that we truckees love to hate so much. That would have wrecked them for awhile, and given us a free run through.
