  • What was the results?

Did it create the same climb performance as the slats while reducing weight, does it reduce cruise speed as a result?

  • @LTF85199 Rate of climb is 140fpm better with VGs instead of slats. Cruise speed is 6 kts faster at the same power setting.

  • @LTF85199 For detailed test results go to the website shown at the beginning of the video, 'Slats/VGs' section

  • VGs is short for vortex generators.

    Ask Google.

  • Yes you can use both VGs and slats. With slats still on, the VGs make no difference to performance.

  • if your ever in miami with this plane let me know im dying to find someone to get a ride

  • This aircraft is in Australia, so probably won't get to Miami, sorry.....

  • @STOLSPEED Google VGs and you do not get vortex generators. Acording to Wikipedia: VGS may refer to:

    US-skacore band Voodoo Glow Skulls

    Volunteer Gliding Squadron

    Virtual Game Station

Vince Genna Stadium, a baseball park in Bend, Oregon

VGS means gate to source voltage in field effect transistors (electronics)

  • What is VGs?

  • can you run VGs with the slats still on? I'm think about building the tail for the 801 this coming summer :-)

  • @STOLSPEED fly it to the U.S.!!!!

  • Wow, I saw three CH701's yesterday at a Fly-in, those tails are way up there, now I know why! Awesome airplanes!
