It's hard to believe that this was just three years ago. As much as Safina was criticized for being such a mental mess, it's very sad to see that she may be on the brink of retirement because of a bad back. I remember seeing her at the 2010 AO and just being in so much pain, and I felt so bad for her. I hope she can come back but more importantly, I hope she lead a healthy life. You never want to see someone limp or hobble away from the sport they gave so much to.

serena williams has the best game in women's tennis history. she's truly the queen of the court.

for all of those that may say evert, navartalova and graff, i agree they were really really good, but they didn't have to play serena williams. imagine if serena at her best was able to play at the same time as those women. serena would have half their grand slam titles because they had no real competition.

@cruz111 I may be getting this match and the '07 Sharapova beatdown confused because they both were so quick, lol, but if I remember correctly, this one was just under an hour, like 58 or 59 minutes and the Sharapova final was just over an hour at 1 hour 3 minutes.

@DIANAROSS4EVER Excuse me? I don't need to, it's fact. Sure record wise and domination wise Steffi and many others has got Serena beat. But Navratilova has even said that considering today's racket technology and power, no one can stand up against these players. I'm not saying Serena is the best in terms of domination of an era, I know she isnt, Steffi will always be hands down, but in terms of todays conditions she is the best when she plays like she did here and 2007.
