This video explains palliative care in the words of a palliative care patient and several care providers. They will talk about the many facets of palliative care including pain and symptom control, the team approach, keeping your own doctor, and communications with patients and their family members.

Palliative care is different from hospice. It is not limited to end-of-life care.
It focuses on relieving and preventing pain and other symptoms, and helping patients and families maintain the best possible quality of life, whatever the diagnosis.

Palliative care is about improving quality of life. It provides expert care for patients and families, along with spiritual and emotional support.

  • Very comprehensive description of the issues faced by patients

  • Excellent video. I like the clarification of "burden" as the illness not the patient.
