What's Good? A quick question... I don't have a limiter in my effects processor so I use a regular compressor with the ratio set to 10:1. Do you think I should dig in my pockets to get a real limiter plug-in (am I losing out by using this method) or do you think the improvised limiter is good enough?

@ThaKnick27 Hey, A limiter is a very very very super important tool. Like weed is for me when i make beats lol you hear my music =X. What software you using? if you are using fl studio, then MAXIMUS has a built in limiter. This volumizes your sound. If you dont have a limiter, maybe you can try using the gain knob to raise your sound, and then add another compress to brickwall it at like -.5 db or something, but be careful of clipping.

How much dB have the instruments?

@Blackout9eins the db on the isntruments vary depending on how "harsh or sof" they are. Some sound require frequency cuts so they dont make your gf jump out the car lol
