Music and lyrics written by Joey Elkins

Joey Elkins: Piano and all vocals
Steven Russell: Bass and drums

Hiya All!

Here's a song I've been working on recently. I'm not sure if it's complete yet, but thought I'd share it and listen to it myself for a few weeks - either something will scream "re-do this bit!!" or ... "it's ok as it is" or... "I should have added something there" etc... we'll see.... laugh!! I'm hoping Bob Long will re-do the piano part!

Thanks for listening...

Enjoy!

  • Jack of all trades, product demos, vocal coaching. Chief among them all is this gorgeous, determined, voice so honest and affecting in its purity, quite frankly, strip it down, like The Beatles Naked. Just a girl, a voice, and her heart. Best music I'm hearing here... Keep it real and raw, and some of us will be crying together.

  • @auramac This compliment is simply lovely. Thankyou so much for the kind words - made me smile :).

    Best wishes,

    Joey

  • thanks Joey - love you

  • I'm not going to insult you by making comparisons, your voice is beautiful and unique all by itself. Nice song.

  • love this style of music, has a similar feel to some of Donald Fagen's work.

    Great voice!

    P.s. - please by my wife! ;)

  • beautiful. If, and only if, you were in a place of mixing it again, you might find hipassing the harmonies just gently before they are fed into the reverb; and just dropping the dry sound back a bit so that the 'wet' tails are more present, you'll find that you can make the BVs just hang in the air a little more, giving this excellent piece some more sparkle (not that it's lacking). It might need the rev time increasing, but only a little..

But as it stands it's lovely - when's the album out?

  • WOW! Absolutely amazing music, beautiful voice! Great!
