i am chainsaw mechanic in europe....i do my work also on tanaka....where do you see magnesium engine block, chrome plated cylinder, 3 part cranckshaft, M tronic computer and M TRONIC WALBRO carboreteur, platinum exhaust, prefectly balanced flywheel, C4 SKF bearings, automatic air filter cleaner, 2.5 M/s left or right anty vibration system, and theres planty of other things....you can't compare tanaka with STIHL or HUSQVARNA....you just can't !!!!!!

@PERPARSON just because you didnt see a professional logger use a tanaka that doesnt mean there bad saws. stihl's are cliches and overrated

@PERPARSON my ecs 351 cuts way better than any stihl ive used.... and its only got a 16 inch bar

yes i work on lawn&garden service and there are many parts on tanaka made in china as carbureteor( ZAMA-china) bearings, oil seals, igniton coils so don't learn me about outdoor power tools.... nothing come close to stihl& husqvarna

Cheap copy of nothing. I have used Ryobi, Tanaka, and Echo. Tanaka are well-engineered and reliable. They are value for money and parts pricing is affordable. The only Japanese made product that beats Tanaka is Zenoah owned by Komatsu and recenty bought by Huskvarna, due to superior quality. There is a double price difference with Tanaka.

@PERPARSON cheap? nah, stihl are a rip-off. tanaka isn't the sort of stuff you see in sears or b&q, it's the sort of stuff you see at an independant dealer, because it's of high quality japanese manufacturing.
