@ashleyballerine But it is a right people should be entitled to. Its educational, and like Qidding points out it promotes activism umoung viewers. Culture belongs to everyone, it should not be controlled by the very wealthy who can afford to use and own intellectual property.

The great thing about "chopping it up" is that it takes the passivity out of the spectator. Rather than just sitting back and being zombies to media, we create our own meaning and actively express what the mainstream either does not have the guts to represent, or just doesnt have the creativity to think of as being outside the box.

I can not stand it when people take other people's hard work, chop it up and call it art. This mashup stuff is not art. It is just the work of people without imaginations.
