No what would have prevented this would have been for Takako to have had some female friends who gave her a comfort weekend consisting of watching movies, eating popcorn and chocolate(ok in this particular case a lot of chocolate) and badmouthing boys. Seriously, there is a reason we (girls) have these routines.
Great Video the song really does fit well.

haha yeah i know XD oh well. it just went with the song...sort of XP but it would have been horrible if hayate did go out with takako, since he didn't love her...O.o;
