I was looking at lilmzthunda's dissertation about being natural.. It caused me to reflet once again how black people, in particular view those of us who ahve chosen to be natural. Why - no- how do you make a character evaluation on me based on how I wear my hair. Why are white folk more accepting of my natural state than my own people??? Oh well.. happy to be nappy...

  • what can you expect from a sleeping (unconscious) people. i have to give to the slave masters from yesteryear, they did an awesome job with making a people not only forget who they were, but yet make them hate who they are today.

  • I couldn't have said it better myself!! Our black brothers and sisters usually make nasty comments about our natural hair beacause when they look at us they see themselves and thats just a fact that they won't accept. Love your hair. Love your skin. We were made in the image and likeness of our King!!

  • LOVE IT! Thank you.

    18+ yrs locking and what a celebration it is!!. I will never return to chem straightener's to conform to anyone standards. Over 36" long & I've maintained my hair from day one.

    One day I walked into a bank and more than 1/2 of the staff "froze" in place as if I said, this is a hold up. I couldn't believe these black women was that focus on MY HAIR! I wanted to say, it's real hair on my head, not a hold up ladies. I don't have a gun so get back to work. :-)

  • Wow... I will always remember that quote. "Who's your hairdresser?" "GOD!"

    That was very empowering! Enjoyed your video and your articulate, self secure expression. Thanks and Blessings! PKizzm

  • ONE OF MY WORST EXPERIENCES AS A NATURAL BLACK WOMAN BEFORE I STARTED MY LOCKS WAS WHEN OLDER BLACK WOMEN THOUGHT THAT I LOOKED DISGUSTING AND THOUGHT I NEEDED TO COMB MY HAIR. MY REPLY TO THEM WAS IF YOU WERE STILL IN AFRICA YOU WOULD LOOK JUST AS BEAUTIFUL AS ME EVENTUALLY IT WAS ACCEPTED ONCE IT BEGAN TO GROW RAPIDLY AND HEALTHY

  • LOVE IT,LOVE IT,LOVE IT..I became natural 8yrs ago an I really feel every word you speak,even the part refering to the bishops comment.Try working for the Goverment

    an being the only sister in the room,an she wears locs,I love it :)

  • Wonderful video!!. I have recently went natural about 3 weeks ago and help so liberated..

    I totally loved when you said that GOD is your hairdresser.!!

    Keep spreading positivity and truth.

    ~~~Infinite Blessings to u~~~
