  • does anyone know if Thomas Beckets grave has ever been opened in modern times?

  • @Cherimoyah It was after Henry VIII declared himself Supreme Head of the Church in England and started the Dissolution of the Monasteries. He wanted to rid England of Roman Catholic influence, and Beckett's shrine was pretty popular.

  • @zzebowa @TroyBilt007 Unfortunately, Henry VIII had Thomas Beckett's bones destroyed in 1538.
