In God We Still Trust

Note: Downloaded before Pres. Obama took his oath of office.

When the President Elect Obama and his new cabinet take office I pray that they remember to include the words "So help me God" at the end of the oath.

Note: I just learned that atheists and several non-religious organizations have filed a 39-page lawsuit to prohibit the use of religious phrases and references to God when President-elect Barack Obama takes the oath of office Jan. 20. Well I pray that will not pass.

CNN reports that Obama, who will use the Bible Abraham Lincoln used for his inauguration, is not named in the suit because of his rights as an individual that allow him to express religious beliefs.

Just In (Friday Jan 16, 2009): WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge on Thursday refused to order the words "so help me God" taken out of President-elect Barack Obama's oath of office next week or to prevent ministers from praying at the inauguration celebration. U.S. District Judge Reggie Walton turned down a request from a group of atheists and agnostics to force Chief Justice John Roberts not to add those words to the 35-word inaugural oath outlined in the Constitution. Obama already has told Roberts he wants to use the words "so help me God" when he takes the oath. YES!!!!!!!

It is true that many areas in this nation still have the inscription "In God we Trust" on monuments, plaques, seals, coins and currency. When we pledge allegiance to the flag indeed we still say "one nation under God". God is the source of all our strength and protection. He is the one who watches over us. (Psalms 91) I agree that we, as Christian believes, still have time to make our voices heard and pray for our nation, our leaders and our military here and aboard.
