Me (dave) jamming along with Skynyrd's "Workin for MCA", playing guitarist Ed King's parts. I've included some tabs of a couple of the key rhythm parts for those who care.

you seem to be making that signature lick a lot more difficult than it is by playing the B-bar all the way up at the 7th fret....the lick can be played at the second fret posititon on the 4th and 5th string B chord and then using the little finger to slide down from the D note on the 5th string. there's a clip from '96 in Finland that shows Ricky Medlocke playing it at the 32 second mark. That's the way I heard it played in '74 just listening to the bite/twang....knew it was not 7th fret.

@bloozedaddy I play the chord as a hybrid of what Allen Collins and Ed King played. Allen slid down from the 14th fret barre and Ed played it at the 2nd fret.

7th fret barre chord seems like a compromise between the two.

Again, my take is not note-for-note.
