  • your body dosen't just account for carbs though when you exercise more. I've seen people have carb heavy carb heavy diets and still get very lean but it's because they are running at a deficit and are probably consuming enough protein to protect a ton of muscle loss. Also I don't need the explanation of what a refined carb is. I'm a type 1 diabetic, a marathon runner and am currently at 8 percent bodyfat. I'm not trying to prove anything but I'm well aware of basic nutrition ;)

  • @birdman4birdlegs The more you exercise, the more tolerant your body will be of carbohydrates. If you want to consume more carbs, work out more to account for them. The higher the amount of refined carbohydrates you consume, the greater the chance that your cells will become resistant to insulin, which will translate into poor insulin sensitivity.Refined carbs include many sweeteners, white flour, snacks, and sodas.

  • @birdman4birdlegs so because of that insulin responses are very critical in order to stay lean. The hormone insulin is responsible for helping us accumulate more fat in our fat cells.Raise your insulin (by consuming a meal loaded with carbohydrate) and your body will respond by accumulating more fat in fat cells (unless you need that carbohydrate for immediate energy).Keep your insulin levels low, and your body will release fat from your fat cells. In theory, this fat will be burned for energy.

  • @r3phon every carb raises blood sugar man. 20 grams of oatmeal and 20 grams of juice (excluding the fibre in the oatmeal) are going to make you fat. Also processed sugar dosen't make you gain fat, an excess in calories makes you fat. people following an IIFYM approach to fitness have been able to bulk or cut eating some crap.@frost310 is absolutely right about the "experts" comment

  • Thats a really informative video. I highly recommend it to all beginers.

  • A lot of experts on this comment board. .

  • @r3phon
