check out http://www.guitar-emporium.com for all the cool boutique pedals I use and demo...IN STOCK! pedal shootout, or comparison, of the Smallfry, the Zen Drive, and the Distortion Pro. All great pedals...not a great demo of them, but here's an honest, out of the box and on to the board example. I'll get around to learning how to use them eventually!! ROCK!! GMD

  • Dang Gearmanndude. I can't watch this video without your signature snakeskin boots! This is so wrong!

  • @Twistchawa Opinions are great and everything, but when they're so extreme I can't help but roll my eyes a bit. The Barber didn't compare? C'mon man.

The Small Fry was my favorite of the three, easily beating the Fulltone. The Zen and the SF were close. Had the Zen been dialed with a bit more bite, it would have been even closer.

  • you should do a shootout between the barber small fry and an earthquaker monarch

  • is it really fair to demo a pedal that is no longer available? and where are the snakeskin boots? i feel doubly cheated! haha

  • I don't care if it's a Strat, saturated distortion on the front pu just sounds wrong

  • @BluesRocker52 Agreed- Gearmanndude is still the King of You Tube demos, with or without the boots- but, the boots certainly helped him to acheive the rock star status, that I'm sure he now enjoys. Gearmanndude, your demos are the most helpful, and entertaining- Thanks !

  • Yeah, we need to see the snakeskin boots!

  • seriously, seriously, up the reference amp, pad and compression limit the recording

I hate the little amp and the little speakers

tin and thin, DR Z, I would like to hit it with an axe.

The Barber will burn a decent half stack.

Modulation distortion on record input, EQ is thin and sound is tin can,

up the recording amp to at least 2-12s and a decent head or some wattage

cannot tell any difference here at all except for the distortion killing the input on the recorder

  • @CarvinTone "rerig" I love it! It's all about the Rig. -S.

  • You definately need to work the audio and video quality :)

  • I love all these wonderful 'test's' by Gearmanndude.. But they really mean nothing! if you watch them!! People are such subjective creatures and biased.. To actually get any idea of a difference in these pedals, you have to just listen without watching!!!!! Try it and see if they really sound that different.. or more to the point.. is the small difference worth a hoot!
