The fortunate side of You Tube.....
Meeting people such as Norman Lowell, who has kindly given me permission to use his original music. Having the opportunity to put my film visuals to this particular music, written by Norman Lowell, has been a great honour. Many Thanks.

Please note the following

Elm Tree/ Kew Gardens/ Victoria , Australia 2011
Filmed by Bravurak

MELBOURNE will lose more than half of its stately elms under a radical plan to replace many of the city's ageing trees.

Tens of thousands of trees will be temporarily stripped from the city under the replanting plan, which also will see the number of plane trees halved.

But Lord Mayor Robert Doyle said Melbourne's world renown tree canopy would come back better than ever for future generations.

Under the plan, the Melbourne City Council hopes to increase the number of trees from 60,000 to 90,000 over the next 20 years and double the canopy coverage to protect from extreme heat.

Cr Doyle yesterday said the draft urban forest strategy to remove the trees included some "bold steps", but they were necessary to make sure future generations would be able to enjoy the city's trees.

    Take care Mr. A!

    xx Susan

  • Beautiful!!!! Just what I needed. We got snow here a few days ago and at the other side of the world you're starting your summer. Beautiful trees. (I could only got to the 4:22 mark. Sadly I can't see the entire video but I did get to see a good part of it. It's beautiful :o)

  • @nlowell1 Well Norm, at least you got a 4 min time...much of the tree etc is repeated through, except the last few seconds, when we get rays of sunlight hitting off from the tree trunk and through the leaves. Very powerful all round, again, many , many thanks for letting me part of your wondrous sounds. Lifts one higher and , yes, Just what I needed as well!

    xx Susan

  • @rapidopato For me, after all my life here in Melbourne, trees have been such a BIG part of our city. I am sure there will plenty of opposition over this plan. It will be of interest o see whether this decision can be carried out or not. Over the past decade there has been so many blights of the Elm tree bug disease. So many of the trees have been destroyed by this as well. I hope that , as you have pointed out, that they are making the correct choice.

  • @BravuraK I agree about planting new seeds but I think it would be better to preserve the old elms, I do not understand why they have to cut them, I would never do it, for sentimentals reasons, but I suppose they prune a forest as a tree is pruned, to make way for the new branches, and I hope they are right and it's for the better. I am not very sure of it , and I will have to inform me better about it, anyway it is such a sad a decission they made!
