The story is not true. You misunderstood what he said at the end. Look at the VLog again and watch what he said. Did you see the DOG??? James made the story up to talk about hearing people using CI on their deaf children. He was trying to make a point.

This video is GREAT! It makes such a good point . If this video upsets someone...then they should be likewise upset that many hearing parents put their young children through a potentially dangerous, expensive, and often unnecessary surgery so that their deaf child can be "hearing" just like them. Definitely something to think about...

I knew this was a "fake video" from early on in the video, It got me thinking about the young kids getting cochlear implants when they aren't old enough to make the decision. I was glad to find I was right and this was the point you were trying to make. Shocking people is a great way to grab their attention.
All kids should be allowed to make the decision when they are old enough to. thanks for this.
I am just a hearing ASL student but I really liked this "prank" vid. Gets the point across.

We watched this video in my ASL class last year and my whole class got so upset and frustrated. What a good way to get such a good point out, great video!!! I loved it!!!

I was born hearing but my hearing dropped when i was 7 i got a HA i got my cochlear implant 2 years ago i consented i read the paper work and i signed the forms it was all my choice. BTW I speak good NZSL and endlish ,ASL signs are similar so i understand the video.
