that macho pick a fight thing is when a guy asking another guy of similar age. but when a female asking that question to a guy it's usually mean she does not like him. if she is interested in him she usually asks "find something interesting?"

u will never know what a person is looking at unless u ask. to you, the other person's eyes maybe looking at your nose but he/she is actually looking at your lips. u need to ask. there is nothing wrong with asking.
the important thing is how u ask the question, not what u ask. one proper way to ask that question would be "may I ask what u find so interesting?"
