And "Ghost in the Shell" was highly influenced by "Neuromancer".

I think both of series cover a large variety of philosophic and ideological complexes. And in those terms they cannot be compared to each other its just that delivery of GitS is much more "in your face" kind of and Matrix is more like "Dig for it ,yourself !" But while Matrix has it all figured out and much of characters personalities and relations stripped down and self explained GitS leaves you wondering about characters and their destinies. But both ways they are two epic installments!

Johnny Mnemonic & Escape from New York highly influenced Neuromancer. Can't we all agree that they are all great works of Sci-Fi that influenced one another. I personally enjoyed Ghost in the Shell: SAC more than the Matrix trilogy. I think they are both original in their own way, Matrix and GitS start off in a similar fashion and branch off in their own ways. The Matrix is one of my favorite live action films, the sequels weren't as good which is why I think GitS is better overall.

People thought anime is just for kids. But they didn't realize that it changes the way the film industry works know a days. So be appreciative what anime has contributed to the film industry.

    ...Reloaded was pretty good.

Come on, you can't tell me that freeway scene wasn't epic. O:

More reasons why Reloaded and Revolutions suck is mainly because there is no intense and innovative gunplay, or any at all like the iconic lobby shootout from the first, plus the humans never actually defeat their enemy as built up. Rather they live is some weak neutrality with the robots? How the hell was that supposed to be a satisfying conclusion at all? There is still conflict present. Damn how did they fuck it up so bad and not answer any of the questions brought up in Reloaded?!!

I've seen all the Matrix and Ghost movies, and it's clear that, while they do share certain scenes and ideas in common, the Matrix covers a wide range of topics from the purpose of life to absolute freedom in a general format. Ghost is more specific in their philosophy, and therefore focuses on fewer subjects than the Matrix. I personally believe the Matrix is more ideologically complex than Ghost, though I enjoyed both series like I enjoy two hot bitches ridin' my dick together.
