Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK for the Atari 2600 video game system. This game is based on the incredible INDIANA JONES and the RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK movie that was released in 1981. Directed by Steven Spielberg, Starring Harrison Ford and written by George Lucas, Frank Marshall and Howard Kazanjian, it's easily one of the greatest movies ever made. Sadly this game has practically nothing to do with the movie! You play an archeologist in the game (supposedly Indy) and are sent on a quest to find the lost ark of the covenant... or the game cartridge of Cosmic Ark for the Atari 2600, who can be sure? This adventure early old school RPG style game required abstract logic to complete. CGRHD was confused and sent into a quantum flux with this concept. Maybe Data from Star Trek could figure it out, but CGRHD is too dumb. The Indiana Jones series continues on after "Raiders" with INDIANA JONES and the TEMPLE OF DOOM and INDIANA JONES and the LAST CRUSADE. There's a new one coming out this summer called Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. There are reports of new Indiana Jones video games in development.

Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. CGRHD is reviewing video game from the past 30 years, from 1978 to the present including Playstation 3 PS3, Sega Genesis, Nintendo Entertainment System NES, Atari 2600, 7800, N64, Dreamcast and Xbox 360. XBLA.

  • This is what you get when it's designed by the same guy who did E.T.

  • well, i could have used this info many years ago when i was like seven or something...

  • this the only game i like for indiana jones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i played this and won it on my own but i have also been diagnosed as legally insane so maybe there is a connection oh well it was a good game at the time

  • I beat this when I was 10.

  • 1999 was a good year....

  • dude piseed he couldnt beat it, dumb ass

  • It really was entirely a puzzle game. I have a nostalgic connection with this game which ruins my objectivity. My cousin received Raiders as a Christmas gift and we, along with his and my brothers and sisters, spent hours playing it until we solved it in a day. So I recall it as being great fun, but that is probably more due to the fun of playing the game with my cousins and siblings in a house full of people at Christmas.

I can see how, in less "festive" circumstances, this game would suck.
