I remember hearing this when it was first broadcast and I thought that it was sublimely brilliant - I convinced myself while the phone-in was running that they surely must have got an actor in to re-read what he had actually said, Gerry Adams style, because there is no way that someone could actually say those things out loud and expect to be taken seriously for even a moment. But he sounds completely sincere!
