The Samsung Galaxy S II series of phones have been an international hit, but have stayed away from the US market -- until now. Sprint is the first to sell one of the Galaxy S II phones, with a model called the Samsung Epic 4G Touch. This new model replaces the Samsung Epic 4G, which was one of the nicest phones that had a physical sliding keyboard. The Epic 4G Touch has no keyboard, but it does have a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED+ display that brings a lot of punch to the party.

In this video, Wirefly's Bob Kovacs begins running the Epic 4G Touch through its paces and does a couple of benchmark tests to check the phone's performance.

  • @wirefly I got the phone and lvercharged it for at least 3x if I ksep doing that will.it effect my batter on how it last??? And it has a huge 1800 mah battery lol

  • @BadazzMuthafukaMyNiq Batteries usually take a few charge/discharge cycles to reach their maximum performance, so battery life should improve a little as you use the phone for the first couple weeks. Is that what you're asking?

  • When is sprint going to get a new phone

  • @89Poptarts There probably won't be anything big on Sprint until May/June, as that is when Sprint will turn on its new 4G LTE network. Until then, there will probably be only minor phone announcements from Sprint. One interesting recent item for Sprint is the ZTE Optik tablet. It's the first affordable tablet with decent specs from a major carrier. It launches March 11.

  • When is this phone getting updated to ice cream sandwich?

  • @Dthesupreme All I know is what I read in the blogs. What I've heard is that Samsung will update Galaxy S II phones sometime in the 1st quarter of 2012. Again, that's what I've heard unofficially.
