From 25 June to 2 July 2011, 30 young Arameans from Germany, Sweden, Belgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Lebanon, Jordan and India were given another great possibility to develop their leadership skills, learn more about their Aramean (Syriac) identity, become more aware of their basic human rights and contribute to the youth strategy of the SUA Youth Academy.
The study session was sponsored and hosted by the Council of Europe's European Youth Centre in Strasbourg (EYCS) and was entitled the "1st International Aramean Young Leadership Training Programme: The Road to the Future."
The event turned out to be a great success! All participants returned happily home, equiped with newly obtained knowledge and a huge motivation to get more engaged in the affairs of their Aramean community at home. One of the 30 participants, Andreas Oktay from Berlin, created this video to capture a few of the many great moments the participants shared together.
Mathay Aydin from Germany recorded everything on behalf of Suryoyo Sat. After it will be broadcast on and by Suryoyo Sat in September, it will be accessible at www.tayro.org. For more info, see http://sua-ngo.org/node/1324.
