How can a secondary school only have form one and two? Olu Tur Oto Secondary School in Kajiado North is evidence of the gap in education funding and infrastructure between urban and rural areas. However, things are looking up for the small school. Cynthia Vukets reports.
I like an American accent. **sniff sniff**

Se1n1fe ur dreams r good. Yes Kajiado is expansive but she was referring to Kajiado North. Beyond Ngong Hills way down to Magadi it is sparsely populated. What could work here is to build a few huge boarding schools then fully equip em with pro teachers, Labs Libraries internet etc. Popping up buildings and calling 'em schools is politically correct but useless in terms of quality education!

@siasabora 30 something public secondary schools for the entire kajiado district (about 22,00kmsq) is NOT sufficient. Having a kid walk 20km to school everyday and especially during drought season when there might not be much to eat is just no acceptable. 3 -5 would be more reasonable or better yet digitize learning (i know i dream but one has to sometimes..)

On education the MP has done relatively well in this area, trust me! The 20 KM shouldn't be an issue here. There are on average 40 families living within that 20 KM radius....unless every manyatta Homestead gets it's own secondary school, costs notwithstanding!

Every time i see Saitoti i throw up a little in my mouth....what a useless MP! How many years has he been a MP for kjd north? Why do kids have to walk that far to schools when it is the responsibility of the govt to educate them. Saitoti should be fighting for their rights in parliament by insisting on govt funding for more schools in kjd north and libraries.....ooh don't get me started on libraries in kenya.....geez...

I'm really irked by the scores of videos featuring leaders giving speeches whilst their audiences roast in the African sun. This is a change; here's something positive being done for the community by Citi. A breath of fresh air.
