Me Playing "I wish" by Stevie Wonder. A newly learned song. Thought I'd post it while I'm trying to learn "Power" by Marcus Miller.

Made a couple of mistakes in this one and still have work to do on it.

  • Hey, thank you for doing this. I had a car accident a few years ago that messed up my hearing and I was having a hell of a time figuring out the chorus to this tune. I needed to know it for a band I was trying out for and I just couldn't make it out clearly. Thanks to you, I know this song and I got the gig. Just wanted to say thank you.

  • Really? Thanks. Glad I could help in some way.

  • That was rather good, but try playing it less legato, keep it really pointy. Has more pump that way. Also, it's a matter of personal preference, but I'd play this one on the bridge pickup. Cheers!

  • Legato? and what do you mean by the bridge pickup? I'm not familliar with any of these terms. I just play. LOL But please explain.

  • cool stuff bro good work

  • Hey man...thanks. I'm just learning to actually play and one day I'll be as good as you. I saw your Improv Slap bass vids. You're really good.

    Thanks Again!!

  • there is no bridge pick up :P its a jazz bass pickup set up...

  • really nice sound, you're amazin'

    michael I miss you...

  • To play something legato is to leave no space in between the notes, so that the end of one note is the start of the next. The opposite of legato is staccato, where each note is sounded only briefly. You're playing the verse and chorus quite staccato (which is how I like it) but every time you get to the pre-chorus, you start playing legato! I think you'll notice it sounds much groovier if you make the notes shorter.

  • Very nice job--never saw your work until tonight--keeping grooving.

  • hey i was looking trough your vids, didn't know you played this one too!

    Very very good!!!
