Protest song inspired by Phil Ochs, Woody Guthrie, Bily Bragg and Bob Dylan. Tells story of former Ford car parts factories in Basildon, Belfast, and Enfield, which were originally transferred to a connected firm called Visteon, then closed down altogether. This left hundreds of workers, many of whom had worked at the factories for over 30 years, with no pensions or redundancy payouts, even though they were promised continued Ford standard pay and conditions, when the factories changed ownership. The closures sparked mass protests from the workers, who eventually won generous redundancy packages. Very inspiring!! They still fighting to rescue their pension scheme.
