A 7 cm benign right ovarian dermoid cyst (teratoma) is removed with some leak. Notice the sebaceous material that came out of the cyst . A few hairs came into view too. Thorough irrigation to wash out leaked substance is important .

  • good job done doc.. what do u do with the redundant capsule ? or ovarian tissue? do u repair it ?

    congratulations

  • @dryogeshmehta

Thank you for your comment. I do repair the ovarian incision usually with 3.0 vicryl. I try not to resect any redundant tissue unless it is too thinned out. This is to preserve as much ovarian function as possible.

you can see the repair part in another video of mine

  • I have one 11/20 cm . Can it be removed laparoscopicaly?

  • Is it possible to still concieve after one of these is removed?

  • @Hecket ok thank God i work in a hospital but i am not medical staff was just curious thanks for the info

  • @jj7akaJamal It depends allot, it's mostly case by case on which primordial germ structure procentage the cyst is made out of.

In this case the cyst had fluid like structure making it easier to remove by draining it and sucking it up through an exterior source then removing only the sac. If for instance the cyst is very large and very ferm and can not be drained, a bigger opening is created to remove the cyst instead of the inserted bag and pulled out.

    NOTHING went wrong!

  • im haveing my op on the 17th march, but will be haveing a bikini line cut, so not looking forward to it, but for those who are haveing a laparoscopy , don't worry the cut is so small honestly, it was with me anyway, so good luck too everyone, p.s a least the horrible thing is better out than in x
