My Shepherd Will Supply My Need

Me playing one of my favorite hymns. This arrangement is by Joseph Martin from the book American Tapestry.

Soli Deo Gloria

My Shepherd will supply my need:
Jehovah is His Name;
In pastures fresh He makes me feed,
Beside the living stream.
He brings my wandering spirit back
When I forsake His ways,
And leads me, for His mercy's sake,
In paths of truth and grace.

When I walk through the shades of death,
Thy presence is my stay;
A word of Thy supporting breath
Drives all my fears away.
Thy hand, in sight of all my foes,
Doth still my table spread;
My cup with blessings overflows,
Thine oil anoints my head.

The sure provisions of my God
Attend me all my days;
O may Thy house be my abode,
And all my work be praise!
There would I find a settled rest,
While others go and come;
No more a stranger, nor a guest,
But like a child at home.

Despite your obvious classical training, you can obviously FEEL the music. Have you ever considered branching out into jazz/gospel improvisation?

@EDZ7777 Yeah, I've played some jazz, but I'm not terribly good at jazz improv. I've played lots of classical music, and LOTS of church music. Thanks for your comments!

SO..Annabel, you have both a 'Baby Grand' and an electric piano in your home! Now that's real commitment.

I also play a lot of Gospel music in my church's band, so if you're ever near Bristol, please drop me a line and we can get together and jam. :)

Improvisation gets easier with practice - or so they tell me! :)
