Most of the group members that have been to a show or two are pretty good at spear fighting, unfortunately it is rare that we have enough warriors at practice to do proper linefights, which means that the newbies learn at shows. It's all good advice though, and is helpful to someone that's not done it before, thanks!

have two men stay together maybe form a two man shieldwall

Stay together AND have men going to the flanks? You can only choose one of those tactics if you only have 4 men per side!

first rule stay together have come men going to the flanks and voila

I think the best way to practice is at a show.

@SpickPowder I couldn't disagree more. The last thing you want is a load of crap swordsmen running around injuring each other. Much better to prepare properly, then arrive at a show competent and safe.

@fsbritney Experience is the best teacher; If you are going to practice a dangerous sport expose yourself.

@SpickPowder Agreed, experience is an excellent teacher. Hence why the Gwerin practice twice a week and gain valuable experience before being asked to perform.

hmm looks like you have a lot to learn in future.
but not that bad . tell your spearmen to use crossing spear ( its useless to attack the oponent right in front) stab somebody who stand left or right of your position . lot more effektive:)

@FHCSTEFF You're not completely wrong, but I fear your inexperience of spear fighting in a shieldwall is showing somewhat.
