You have a great country lads. A Greek Nobel-laureate poet once called you "The Greeks of the North". You might find it boring, and you might even find it repulsive. Truth is, Greeks don't like many nations! But no Greek will ever badmouth an Irishman, you are honest, you are passionate and you are hard-working and rebels. You have a great history of oppression and resistance, wonderful spirit, music and mythology. You are indeed a brother nation.

I once met a travel guide on the canaries, asked him for a trip and found out on his dialect that he isn't english and thats what i said to him " thanks god you're not english" he looked at me with a smile in his face telling me he is Irish and we embraced not even knowing each other more the 1minute

Dusk is drawn and the Green Man's thorn is wreathed in rings of fog,
Siabhra sails his boat till morn, upon the Starry Bog.
Sleep the giants' sleep Luke.

Long Live Luke Kelly. Beannacht dea leat agus Slainte!

Great song and probably the best sung version of it . A sailor's anthem ;) and a memory of Liverpool's great seafaring history .
