http://www.horsedrawnpromotions.com Breaking a shire to drive. This video shows a 3 1/2 year old Shire mare that we broke to drive. We broke her single, pair and unicorn; the last part of the film shows her being driven at home by her owners where we encounter a large lorry and tractor on the country lanes. While breaking this shire to harness, we also drove her in the carriage that her owners had bought. We believe heavy horses should also be safe, confident and happy wherever you drive as in this case she was not doing agricultural work, but being used for pleasure driving.
