  • @GlockNinja BeOS is an OS similar to Linux in the way it works and looked good, but never had the support it should have had. Palm bought it so they could use the OS for products like your refrigerator, stoves, and other appliances which was more profitable to them.

  • @nametroubles BeOS was almost Mac OSX, but Apple was Being cheap, waited too long and palm bought it and apple went to Steve Jobs and acquired NeXTSTEP.

  • Brilliant, dude.

  • posted FIRST OF APRIL

  • You know, BeOS seemed pretty promising back in 1991. It was fairly fast, remarkably stable ... and they had those really cool BeBoxes!

    What happened???

  • It was, indeed, an April Fool's joke. :)

  • "The market adopting linux products into the mainstream"

LOL! It must be an Aprils Fools.

  • Sadly, I have to say yes, since it even says so in the description.

  • BeOS was an operating system by Be, Inc. It was built from the ground up to handle multimedia. Although it was discontinued after Be whent under in 2001, I still rely on it, since it can run on a cheap PC, but get the performance you've never seen before on an old computer.

  • I don't get it...whats BEos? Whats it stand for? forgive me for being slow.
