Hey there, this time I'm on the 'Tite Gain' mode of Channel 2, with the power section set to 'Spongy'. Going for more of what you probably know the Stiletto for, in terms of tone.. I messed around and tried to show the dynamics of the amp, and used the volume of my guitar (God Bless Suhr & their capacitors!)

Half way through I decided i'd shred a bit, kind of went for a cross between Howe and Halen..

At the end I play over a drone, so you can hear the tone 'in the mix'

Hope you all enjoy!

  • great tone bro...

would you reccomend a suhr S4, like the one you use, or would i better off getting a fender aerodyne strat and modding the crap out of it?

  • @zakkthegreat S4 if you can afford it!

  • Hello Steve,

really tasty playing. Besides that i love the tone you get out of the Suhr and the Stiletto. I can`t help myself but i think that must be the best lead tone i come across on you tube. What is the main reason for this set aside from your playing: The amp or your guitar. How do you think does the Stieltto compare to a Marshall JVM?

    Best Andy

  • @SimpleMind1 i'd say the guitar. it has sounded great through every amp i've plugged it into.. but the amp also plays such a huge roll in this tone.. the JVM and the stiletto, are similar, but still very different. i'd honestly have to A/B them and see which amp my ears prefer! i can see myself using either, though

  • Great stuff Steve! Wish I knew the secret to getting from where I am, to where you are. You make it look so effortless!

    Pentatonic rut city for me...

  • @f2kflyer pentatonics are great, though.. just work on your 'phrasing' and you will still sound great :-)

  • After having tryed this amp now, the following seems to work: (ch1 crunch, rool back trebl and pres., mids about 3o'clock, bass 2 o'clock, gain almost at 4-5 o'clock), this should give you nice gain a la jcm 800, without the buzzzzz sound.

ch2, roll back gain treble and pres., otherwise => buzz danger. Still a bit too trebly though...

  • they advertise those as marshall like amps, I don't think this sounds anywhere close to a marshall, this has more bottom end, and totally diff. type of distortion

  • possibly the best stiletto demo on youtube

  • i have a question..........this amp is good to play metallica stuff????

  • @SuperMegaMantus that's a good question that I just wanted to ask now as well, Steve..?

  • Hi man. Differences between the Trident and the Deuce? I saw that the Trident is more affordable.

  • Nice demo! Do you know if the 50/100 version does sound really different from this one? Cause the you're getting from this is very very nice, nice playing too!

  • Amazing TONE and PLAYING

  • @SteveHubbardGuitar does this thing have enough gain on tap for heavy agressive metal stylings? Is this stage1 or 2? you have some great tones man, very nice. I just got offered one for my rect-o-verb 50 and i prefer the brit tone but, i need my gain, lol.thanks in advance

  • How heavy are these amps?
