  • his playing is so perfect. he's like a guitar-playing machine

  • @wavybuttsack he's too God

  • @k8tie4him i was sitting there waiting all morning to be there. They were still setting up and marking off the Allman Brothers gear for that night when me and my brother went over to wait

  • NNNNNICE !

  • wasnt watching derek as much as the drummer in the background. thats a guy who gets into the music.

  • Why does everyone think Derek is so young? He's fucking thirty, Hendrix was only 25 when he released Are You Experienced? Clapton was also 25 when he released Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs. He's not young, he's just a fucking great guitarist, and all the others are over 50 now, so he looks young lol.

  • @Arastophes that's mike mattison, one of the more soulful singers around today. he plays one of the key signature roles in DTB. i'm sure he doesn't mind standing for a couple minutes during a jam.

  • dude the singer would only be in the band if he liked their music.... he enjoys standing and listening, probably just being on stage

  • And just for the record: it sucks to be that singer.

I don't even know his name.

But standing there with nothing to do night after night must suck.

  • @Pandolin11 Oh, I agree. There's no doubt that Derek is one of the greatest guitarists ever. But it would just be nice for a little variety.

    That's all.

  • @Arastophes Then it would be the same stuff that they play, I know what you're getting at, and it would be cool, but this guy is perfect this way.

  • He's so great, but I hate how every song of his is just some kind of blues fusion. I want to see this dude groove with just a drummer and a bass player. Just raunchy, dirty stuff. Like the Black Keys sound... minus the blues.

  • He put's everything into his guitar. That's just his concentration showing. He's amazing.

  • Thanks for posting, every time I hear Derek play it makes me want to put my guitars through a wood chipper! He is just amazing.

  • FUCK. Dude is killin.

  • DT is NASTY!!! Everyone needs to show respect!!!!

  • wow theyre all really into it, thats amazing. I wish I was there. Derek looks like he's in pain though, or tired, is that justthe way he plays? either way that was awesome

  • amazing guitar player, very impressive!

  • i was just awe-struck being on the rail for it, Derek is my inspiration on guitar. Getting the setlist was just a bonus and ending up with some signatures was too. Had a nice talk with Todd Smallie for like 10 minutes

  • First off let me say I am jealous of you for being on the rail for that. This is somply amazing heart felt lead guitar at it's very best. Period.

  • i was front row, on the rail for this performance, got a setlist, only got 4 of the guys to sign it, derek wasnt around at the tour bus when i was there cuz he had to stay back for the allmans later that night

  • done last night with souliveat national Harbor in DC-great- hendrix lives on-derek is great- plays for himself and the audience not packaged like so much these days. Allman bros oct 6-yeah

  • would love to have been there!
