I saw your description of what happened to the work and it disgusts me that the first reaction of many is "Don't blame DPW!" and etc etc. There's a cult built up around the infallible DPW -- don't ever criticize them cause without them there'd be no playa. I think that's thinking like an abused child. Last year I witnessed a DPW guy urinating all over someone's art. There's no excuse for that.
I loved your concept, and by tearing it all down so quickly, somebody proved how easily we discard.

I think it's a cosmic joke that there's a Youtube promoted video from BP right next to this vid
I bet our plastic bags will be food for the mutant bacteria we'll eventually create from cleaning up all these oil spills, before they eventually mutate to eat all of our useful plastics and rubbers and liners and sealants :)
