Bad Religion - Watch It Die/"Recipe For Hate" 1993
Lyrics:
I was born on planet earth
the rotating ball where man comes first
it's been around for a long, long time
but now it's time to watch it die
I saw a man on my big blue screen
he ruled the world economy
he said the rich would never concede
but some day soon he'll be put to sleep
I've seen the life of the forest green
and adaptations of the deep blue seas
and who knows who is the fittest
they will all soon be put to rest
On a plunging flight and we're sitting
in the pilot's seat in the midst of life
people on a dark horizon praying
somebody will save their lives
I was born on planet earth
at a drastic time full of plastic mirth
and everyday I've seen increasing signs
and you would too if you'd opened your eyes
you had a chance you did not try
so now it's time to watch it die

  • Last time i heard this song was when a teacher in 6th grade played it for the class. I was 12, now I'm 23, and nothing has really changed... We're all puppets in a big game of chess

  • @11miksti Yeah he was. He also made some of the backing lyrics for American Jesus.

  • Ah, was turned on to these guys when they sent their promo cd to my Dad's label Reveal. Goodtimes, great song!

  • was eddie vedder on the original recording??? i dont remember that, but makes me like eddie a bit more!

  • YES !!!! my shit !

  • @whannes i should of went to your school maybe i would of paid attention more

  • @HoneybunchBunny Well, that's actually disappointing. I mean, to the entire human race. Seriously, I just want one GOOD musician or band that DIDN'T start out way back when, because if we don't, then we don't have even one single thing that's new, and actually good. All there is these days is all those pop songs, and the country music. Just plain terrible.
