Beginner tip: you can approximate firefly pose by sitting on the floor with legs spread to a 90-degree angle, elevate each heel on a block then press your palms down between your legs exhaling on the effort to lift the butt & hips up.

Anatomical focus: wrists
Tip: to lessen wrist strain fold end of yoga mat over to double up thickness *creating mini-lift* for palm placement at double mat edge & fingertips down to floor surface thereby reducing flexion angle on wrists.

Preparatory poses: crow balance, bound angle, cat/cow stretch working wrist flexibility by reversing hand placement from standard *fingers toward knees, palms downward= intense wrist stretch*.

Benefits: stretches inner groins and back torso, strengthens arms & wrists, tones the core, improves sense of balance.
