D-Link Boxee Box CES 2010 Demo

http://www.gearlive.com - At CES 2010 we caught up with D-Link, makers of the exciting new set-top box, the Boxee Box. Boxee rep Andrew Kippen was on hand to give us a walkthrough of the Boxee software, and also gave us a look at the actual Boxee Box hardware.

Well, old laptop is not so optimized for playing 720/1080p video. Also if you want to use your laptop instead of plugging it in to TV all the time. And hey, this looks much cooler than your old laptop :)

Why is this better than using a wireless keyboard to control an old laptop (in my case a fujitsu lifebook) that is connected via an hdmi cable to my tv? I'm still sitting on my couch, and using my tv to access the internet.

Oh and Boxee will let me download the software to use on my computer anyway, if I like their platform.

What is the benefit of this Boxee Box?

@XR269 Bixee is just a commercial version of xbmc su no I'll just go with XBMC ( Plex ) + Aeon skin and have an open source beautiful computer

looks cool and every thing but, if you can get an excellent media player for 100-130 bucks, this extra features would justifies the cost ?

cos it looks expensive..

Boxee is amazing. ALL other media streamers have terrible interfaces & are slow.
