Trailer of the award winning animated short 'The Happy Duckling'. A 9-minute animated adventure following the antics of a young boy and the relentlessly happy duck who trails him. It is set in a delightful and surprising pop-up book world where anything can, and does happen.
The film was written and directed by Gili Dolev and accompanied by an original whimsical score by composer Mick Cooke of Belle and Sebastian.
Since it's launch in October 2008, the film has won Best Children Animation at Stuttgart International Animation Festival in Germany, awarded by a children Jury. A PULCINELLA AWARD for Best Short Film at Cartoons on the Bay, Italy, for its "clever storytelling and very unique animation". And both Best jury Animated Short and Best Animated Short Audience Award at the Oxford International Film Festival in the US.
The film has already screened at over 35 international children, film and animation festivals, from Hollywood California to Nairobi Kenya, Paris to Buenos Aires and Sydney to Edinburgh, delighting children and adults alike.
The Happy Duckling has been picked up for theatrical distribution in France, Belgium, Switzerland and Luxemburg, by prestigious French company Folimage, for their "Mélie pain d'épice" children shorts compilation.
