Sorry for quality my digital camera only records video @ 320x240 which is why I decided to zoom in on a portion of the screen. As you can see the scrolling is very choppy in this game (frequent hitches / pauses as I move aroun the level), It doesnt happen in ALL areas but some people claim they dont have ANY stuttering even on much weaker PC hardware, Has anyone figured out how to fix this or does the game just need a patch?

I bought the game yesterday via Steam summer sale.

i7 920 @ 3.6ghz / 6GB DDR3 / X-Fi audio / EVGA GTX 480 1.5GB / Win 7 64.

UPDATE (11/19/11) A fairly large patch was released a few days ago which seems to of cured the stuttering issue for me nearly 100%, Runs much better now.

  • I have a brand new powerful computer, and this happens to me too. I just grabbed the demo to see as I had heard about it. Was going to buyu but I think I wont..the stuttering is really annoying.

  • @NewYears1978 The stuttering was finally fixed with the v1.4.3.1 and v1.4.3.2 patch released a few days ago, It runs much better now even in full screen mode.

  • I think I found your problem, have you tried it in windowed mode?

  • @IAmSomeoneOrOther windowed mode does help but I have to auto hide the taskbar and the graphics dont seem to be scaled properly in the window, It would be nice if it ran correctly in fullscreen mode but thanks for the suggestion.

  • if anyone is interested the stuttering problem is due to the fact that the game limits the fps to like 15 or something idk. Here is the solution, download the program called FPS Limiter (google it). Then unpack it to the game folder or w/e you want, and make a shortcut to fps limiter.exe. Edit the shortcut (right click, properties) then in the target section type in E:\Games\Magicka\FPS_Limiter.exe /f:50 "E:\games\magicka\magicka.exe". Change that e:\games to w/e the location of your game is.

  • I have the same problem. I thought they fixed it >_>

  • I have this problem also. It seems to only happen with quite powerful computers.
