Phantom Limb - Tourniquet
The case of George Dedlow
Double amputee, one of 500,000
Civil War casualties
Suffered a phenomenon so bizarre
Even the doctors looked on from afar
How can you feel a leg that isn't even there?
From cold to burning heat
To pain beyond compare
Clinically known as phantomb limb
So hard to treat, prognosis dim
Brachial plexus avulsion
They told you cycles were dangerous
Nerves ripped from the spinal cord
You certainly need the Lord
But just like the feeling in your arm that is gone
You've severed communication with Him all along
Even though you know it's totally wrong
Spiritual death kicks off its swan song
Don't throw away the years He gives you
By hardening your heart within you
And if you cut off both your own legs
And you have sworn just to ignore Him
The phantom limb will start to haunt you
He wants to bring you back, revive you
Tourniquet is a Christian thrash / heavy metal band that was formed in 1989 by Ted Kirkpatrick, Guy Ritter and Gary Lenaire in Los Angeles, California, USA. They are known for incorporating elements of thrash, neo-classical and progressive metal into their music. They have achieved 6 GMA Dove Award nominations and won multiple recognitions from the readers of HM Magazine, including "Favorite Band of the 1990s" and "Favorite Album of the 1990s" (Pathogenic Ocular Dissonance). They have released 7 studio albums, a compilation album, EP, acoustic album, 5 VHS releases and 3 DVDs. They have sold more than 300,000 albums. Tourniquet is known for its distinct, individual style. One of the band's trademarks is the incorporation of classical music into their guitar riffs. They are also known for using medical terminology in their lyrics.
In the early 1990s Tourniquet stood out from other thrash groups with its technical drum work and two vocalists with very different vocal ranges/styles. While Tourniquet is known for being a skilled musical group, they never became as big as the "Big Four" of thrash metal: Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax. Some critics have speculated that this might possibly be due to their complex style which probably did not appeal to wider audiences. However, Tourniquet has become so well-known that they are probably one of the best-known Christian metal bands after Stryper.
The current Tourniquet lineup is Ted Kirkpatrick (drums), Luke Easter (vocals), and Aaron Guerra (guitar, vocals). Kirkpatrick has continuously achieved top rankings in polls for the best metal drummers in the world. The band's latest release, Where Moth and Rust Destroy, features special guests Marty Friedman, formerly of Megadeth, and Bruce Franklin, formerly of Trouble, on lead guitar. They are outspoken on issues of animal abuse, and have appeared in publications such as The Vegetarian Times and United Animal Nations, and Animal Agenda.
The band is named for the tourniquet, "a surgical device for arresting hemorrhage by compression of a blood vessel." According to the band, a tourniquet is a metaphor for "a lifelong spiritual process by which a personal God, through the atoning blood, death, and resurrection of His only Son—Jesus Christ—can begin to stop the flow of going through life without knowing and serving our Creator. He is our Tourniquet."
@shnrbtlle....like the way you just tried to shove your crap down ours. That arguement is LAME. Get over it. Everyone already knows that Everyone sins. If it weren't for God's Law, you wouldn't know what sin was and that you needed to repent. Ahhh Repentance, Now there's a concept, and therein lies the place where you are stuck! Christians will Repent of their sins and practice righteousness, while a cynical Jesus hater like yourself will NOT REPENT and will Practice evil with lust for more.

johnnystratman1, You need to find God ma friend. Shooting up is NOT the way to the right path. Maybe you need to listen to Touniquet just a little closer. I will pray you don't live your life in drugs but live it with God.

A tourniquet is also invaluable when shooting up.
