A great book by Iain Banks that should be made into a film- so I created a title sequence animation for a movie that will most likely never be made. A solo project by Sophie Rautenbach....enjoy.

  • very "mind fuck" not sure if the book is quite that way, been a long time since i read it, but it was certainly very dark, and creepy.

my favorite parts where (*spoiler alert*)

the kid with the maggots in his brain, and the rabbit/hare hill chapter

  • Cheers for the comments, regarding fave moments; I am of the same opinion entirely.

However if a disabled child full of maggots is not a mind fuck....I'm not sure what is. This is a title sequence....and hence not an encapsulation of the book..only a taster. But again; thankyou for your thoughts ....s

  • really impressed..what track is used in the back of that?

  • This is brilliant. Well done, what software did you use to make it?

  • this is awesome, so creepy

  • Absolutely love this! Well done!

  • nice work. It's very David Fincher-esk. I'd hope to direct an adaption "The Wasp Factory" one day as I want to be a director.

  • Really good job. This is one of my favorite books. It really should be made into a movie if only because I want to see the Wasp Factory in action. (with fake wasps of course)

  • That was pretty cool. Not sure about the significance of the kids at the start but it ceratinly had the feeling of the book

  • @prawncocktailpirate yea i agree with lukearoo, the book was more of an F'd up suspenseful sequence not much of a fast paced silent hill trip

but i loved it, maybe if you made a film u can change the style, btw what program did you use?

  • Nice video. Bit derivative of the title sequence from Se7en but I take it that was an influence from the nod to Darius Khjondi.

  • This would be a hell of a movie, you should definitely consider submitting this as a promo piece to a studio. Way awsome.

  • this little video was just as disturbing as the book, so well done! goose bumps and everything ;p
