When 58 year old mother of seven, Suhagan, was awarded eight acres of land more than a year ago in a new landmark initiative by Pakistan's Sindh government, she thought her luck had changed.
She was one of thousands of women targetted by the authorities in a programme aimed at empowering some of the poorest female labourers in Sindh. For the first time in Pakistan's history, poor landless women would be the key beneficiaries.
More than 60% of Sindh's rural population are landless.
But Suhagan's happiness was short-lived and a long legal battle followed...
