@asteri63 Charles has worked in journalism over the years, including as a producer for the BBC, and in the making of documentary films, including Touching the Void. He chose not to appear in the series after 21 Up, other than with a single photograph in each new film.

it was a shame to see Jackie get upset with the way she thought she had been portrayed as i think she has always come across as a real nice happy go lucky London girl.

think all of these people have had great lives with lots of ups and downs but thats what life and living is about and im thankful for the chance to watch and enjoy their journey,roll on up 56,63,70 and beyond i say,thumbs up and good luck to you all.

Also, if you're of an age as they are, to even hear the voice, thoughts and desires over time is so special. We had no film with voice back then. We had silent 8mm of people sitting and smiling, or kids running around. We don't know what we sounded like, or what we said, or maybe even what we and our families and friends thought at the time. This series is a real treasure of history for the people interviewed, as well as for viewers as a whole.

This every seven year look into the lives of these people may be difficult for them, but I hope they realize that it is a grand legacy they create. And, even though they may not realize it, their candid life stories help others going through life's challenges through the years. Hearing what they have to say, what they make of their lives and what they think important as they go through life's stages has certainly helped me put my life in perspective as I get older, too.
