you are right - the film is from the 1960s - 1963
i was lucky enough as a kid to see Plisetskaya dancing in Milan with Alexander Goudonov and the Bolshoi Ballet in 'Anna Karenina' - a ballet made for her
great to hear from a Plisetskaya enthusiast!

this is part of the annual russian new year's show probably best translated as the blue flame...its from the 60s i believe :)

i agree - i had unexpected reservations when i first saw the footage but as you rightly say 'who cares'!
partly it was nostalgically reliving seeing maya in milan in 'anna karenina' with godonov - in her 50's then i think
